A Successful Mindset And Why You Need To Have One?

I know you’re probably sitting there reading this saying to yourself, “You have to be lucky to be successful”.  Really??

The most common phrase that we hear is that “success is a state of mind”.  Some people argue that success is a natural result of proper planning, preparation and focused action,  but there are also many exceptions.  Have you wondered how two people can attempt the same objective in the same way and only one of them succeed?  Is it sheer luck?  Timing?  Tenacity?  More often than not a person’s mind-set will determine if they fail or succeed.

Mind-set refers to your predominant state of mind day to day.  It’s what you think about, focus on, and expect from daily experiences.  Think negative thoughts, expect the worst.  Feel pessimistic about your options and that’s exactly what you’ll draw into your life.  Stay positive.  Expect the best, focus on a successful outcome, most of the time you will achieve it.

3 Reasons Mindset Is Important

1)  A success mind-set boosts your confidence and self-belief.

A lack of belief in yourself usually comes along with a sense of powerlessness and futility, which is the exact opposite of a success mind-set.  Lack of confidence means you see no point in trying to be successful because it won’t happen anyway.  Obviously, this type of mind-set is a recipe for failure in any endeavor.

Having a true success mind-set, on the other hand, means you believe in yourself and your capabilities.  You believe you can succeed at nearly anything you try, and you’re willing to give it your best shot.  Even better, the more you do try, the more confidence and self-belief you build – until you’re virtually unstoppable!

2)  A success mind-set strengthens your determination.

Without a success mind-set, one failure is enough to convince you that pursuing your goals is a waste of time.  Tenacity and determination don’t exist in your world.  If you don’t become a raging success the first time you try, you surmise that it simply wasn’t meant to be.  Unfortunately, few things worth having are obtained so easily!

A success mind-set, however, strengthens your awareness that a failure is not the end of the story – it’s just one more way that didn’t work out the way you planned.  In fact, a true success mind-set makes it obvious that the only true failure occurs when you stop trying.

3)  A success mind-set encourages fruitful actions.

Have you ever found yourself wandering in circles because you didn’t know the best way to approach a specific goal?  Perhaps you had an idea of the best course of action but you felt intimidated by some of the action steps required.  As a result, you may have kept sabotaging your efforts as you searched in vain for an easier or less frightening way to your goal.

With a true success mind-set, you’ll always know the most effective action steps that will lead directly to your goal.  You have the inner confidence and determination to pursue them,  which is a sure recipe for success.

- Go for your dreams.
- Think positive.
- Believe
- Believe you can do better.
- Learn, grow and develop.
- Take chances.
- Give it 110% effort.
- Expect the best in every situation.
- Never fear failure.
- You fall down, get back up.

There are plenty of opinions on the right and wrong ways to write effective affirmations, the bottom line is that an affirmation can be considered effective if it works for YOU!  Below I have listed ten affirmations to help us all stay focused and secure with our outward appearance.

The media has definitely blown these two subjects out of proportion (Body Image And Healthy Weight).  Now you can fight back with your own positive agenda and discard all their negative propaganda.

Affirmations are awesome tools that can help you overcome fear, increase your confidence, create, develop an abundance mind-set and more.  Many people aren’t sure exactly how to write effective affirmations.  Do they always have to be in present tense, or contain “negative” words like can’t, won’t, not, and so on?

A Fit Coach Could Be the Difference

My business partner and I were having a conversation about our own personal experiences with coaches during our athletic years.  During the conversation we agreed that having a connection with your coach is sometimes the difference between a successful team and a mediocre team.

Understanding we all get older and have greater responsibilities beyond just coaching, there is something to be said for the attention span of an athlete when they are told to do specific things during training and other instances beyond training.

 A coach, trainer or adviser to an athlete has to be careful of what they ask of their potential athletes.   Now we’re not saying that a coach has to be in Olympic level shape, but they should be taking care of their selves just like athletes are expected to do.

Most coaches get caught up in their sport and forget that today’s youth is very impressionable. They’re more likely to adhere to a coach who takes care of him/her-self than one who is not.

I’m sure you’ve heard someone say “Wait ‘till you get my age”  “when you have kids you’ll let yourself go”, or my favorite “I just don’t have the time.”  Do they sound like good messages to relay to our upcoming leaders and coaches?

Absolutely not!

Coaches should be able to show good form and/or perform a little of what they are implementing
into their teams workouts or programs.  We always say “If we can’t do it properly why should we ask someone else to do it.”

So if you’re one of those coaches who don’t practice even a little of what you preach, get
started on your next workout program.  I guarantee you’ll motivate your kids to put forth an even greater effort when they see yours.

This is just a little food for thought or wake up call.

Athletes are products of their coaches, just like we are products of our parents. So take care of yourself if you’re coaching and be careful of what you ask of your athletes, especially if you’re out of shape.

What’s The Secret And Does The Law Of Attraction Exist?

Several years ago “The Secret” was the bomb diggity for self improvement and self empowerment.  To this day people are still buying the movie and following The Secret website.  Heck I even own The Secret!  Although the idea of The Secret and the principles behind it are great.  The belief that something tangible will suddenly appear out of thin air, just doesn’t simply happen by thinking about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I think The Secret is an outstanding product and it will help put you in the right mindset.  There are other products on the market that are more interactive and give you more of a clear finite path to what you deserve.

Focus is definitely an attribute that we must all grasp. There is no wrong way to find your focus.I personally enjoy finding a peaceful retreat that I can almost go into a meditative state. The Inspiration Hunter’s French Toast (Archive segment)

Angelo Hunter from Allied Training Professionals shares one of his
favorite healthy morning recipes. He warns that he is not a chef and
you can try this one at home. Always try never to skip meals and make
good decisions when creating your meals. This recipe is a great source
of energy to start the day!

What you need?

Arnold’s Health Nut Bread -Nutrition facts:Total Fat 2g per serving

Fat-100 calories per slice, Sat Fat 0g, Trans 0g, Poly 1g, Mono 0g, Cholesterol 0mg, Sodium 160mg, Total Carb 16g, Dietary Fiber 3g, Sugars 3g, Protein 3g, Whole Grains 8g.

Recipe makes about 4 to 7 slices.

1egg, 3 to 4 egg whites (or just 4 to 5 egg whites), 1/3c of low fat,1% or 2% milk, 1/2 -1 cap full of pure vanilla extract, 1-2 tbs of organic or smart balance butter.

Mix ingredients thorough. Cover both sides of bread w/mixture place in pan(pre-heat pan).
Cook each side for 2-3mins,  look for golden brown color. Set oven on
warmer to keep those slices heated. Top with a little sugar free syrup
or my favorite, some fresh strawberries or blueberries. Add a sprinkle
of ground cinnamon(optiona). Serve warm and enjoy

Remember always adjust your meals according to your training regiment and  workout intensity.
