I was once asked, “Why the Hell are you so optimistic about everything?”  I really don’t have any single reason,in fact it is a combination of many reasons.  I was born and raised in a small town on the shoreline,  Old Saybrook CT.  I think growing up in a town where very few African Americans lived had it’s part in it.  I never used that fact to hold me back from being or doing what I wanted.  In fact, I know it gave me the fuel to go for it in sport and life.  At a young age I was introduced into child acting.  Which, for awhile my family and I thought acting was great.  As years passed I realized I was missing out on what the other kids were doing.  So I decided to play sports go to school and act.

It sounded pretty easy and fun, but it turned out to be more of a distraction.  I slowly backed out of auditions and tried to focus on my athleticism.  I’ll be getting into that side of my life in the future.  I’m sure some of being an optimist came from growing up with two very hard working parents.  Being fortunate enough to share my life with my 7 siblings,one of which has cerebral palsy and 6 others that we adopted from extremely volatile situations.

Maybe some of my optimism comes from seeing my mom and dad do whatever it took to provide for their children,and without any hesitation I might add.  Or maybe it was seeing the situations where my adopted brothers and sisters had come from.  I guess in a nut shell.  I find optimism in everything because I have no doubt that anyone can be or do anything they want and any situation can be made into a positive.

Again,I’m not perfect!

I take great joy in seeking out new ways to help others and myself strive to be a better person, a better professional, a better husband, a better brother, a better friend, just be a better being.  I have truly found my purpose in life.  I plan on sharing the high and low moments that have happened in my life to inspire you to help you.  My purpose is not to motivate you(if you are that’s great!), it is to empower you to believe that you can be a productive, positive individual.  Learning together.  Laugh together.  Eat together. Triumph together.  Be Empowered together.  Succeed together.
